Yo Yo Honey Singh Apologizes for Delhi Show Comments on Safe Sex, Says No Intent to Offend

Rapper says his comments were inspired by health discussions, admits delivery was inappropriate, and vows to be more responsible in future.

Mumbai, Jan 16 : Famed rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh found himself in the spotlight yet again after a clip from his Delhi show went viral on social media, sparking backlash over remarks on safe sex. The video, from a live event hosted by Nanku and Karun, was widely criticized for its language and content, with many viewers calling it inappropriate for a mixed-age audience.

By Thursday night, Honey Singh addressed the controversy via Instagram, explaining that the viral clip had been edited and shared out of context. He clarified that his remarks were inspired by earlier conversations with leading gynecologists and sexologists about rising sexually transmitted infections among youth.

“I was trying to convey an important health message to a Gen Z audience in a language they would relate to,” he said. However, the rapper admitted that his delivery missed the mark. “My intention was never to hurt, insult, or offend anyone. I deeply regret that the way I expressed this message was inappropriate and not acceptable to many,” he added.

Honey Singh also promised to exercise greater control over his words going forward, saying, “Main apni zubaan pe niyantran rakhunga. Going forward, I assure you that I will be far more mindful and responsible in my words and actions.”

The apology comes amid intense online debate over celebrity accountability and the responsibility of public figures when discussing sensitive topics with young audiences.
