UP, Nov 10 : In the high stakes Bihar Assembly election, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has become one of the most visible and influential campaigners for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Within ten days, Yogi covered 43 constituencies, addressing 30 rallies and holding one roadshow making him one of the busiest chief ministers on the campaign trail.
His rallies have drawn enormous crowds, with supporters thronging rooftops and roadsides chanting “Bulldozer Baba Zindabad” and “Jai Shri Ram.” Known for his tough stance on crime and decisive governance in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi’s popularity has transcended state borders, finding strong resonance among Bihar’s voters.
Yogi Adityanath’s Growing Appeal in Bihar
Political experts say that Yogi’s success in transforming Uttar Pradesh’s governance model particularly his crackdown on organized crime and emphasis on infrastructure — has enhanced his credibility among voters in Bihar.
“Yogi Adityanath’s strong leadership and governance model appeal to people beyond UP. In Bihar, his image represents firmness, order, and accountability,” said political analyst Binay Kumar from Jamaui. “His campaign complements Nitish Kumar’s local credibility and PM Modi’s national appeal.”
Yogi’s rallies, often packed to capacity, have been instrumental in energizing BJP’s traditional support base while reaching out to first-time voters drawn by his no-nonsense image.
Targeting RJD-Congress Alliance
During his Bihar tour, Yogi launched sharp attacks on the RJD-Congress alliance, accusing them of pushing the state back into “jungle raj.”
“Bihar and Uttar Pradesh share cultural and emotional ties, but their development paths differ,” Yogi said at a rally in Samastipur. “While UP has embraced good governance, Bihar suffered under corruption and misrule whenever Congress and RJD ruled.”
He also highlighted the ‘double engine government’ model emphasizing how BJP-led administrations at both the Centre and state level deliver accelerated growth and stability.
Consistent Strike Rate Across States
Yogi’s rising stature as a campaigner is not limited to Bihar. In Madhya Pradesh’s 2023 elections, BJP won 17 out of 22 constituencies where Yogi campaigned a 77% strike rate. Similarly, in Maharashtra, his fiery rhetoric and focus on Hindutva and law enforcement helped secure 22 victories out of 24 constituencies he canvassed for.
“Yogi Adityanath has evolved into BJP’s most reliable campaigner after PM Modi and Amit Shah,” said Lucknow-based political expert Ramesh Dixit. “His national appeal, coupled with his governance record, makes him an asset in mobilizing both traditional and youth voters.”
A Symbol of Strong Governance
As Bihar heads into a crucial election phase, Yogi Adityanath’s “bulldozer politics” symbolizing a crackdown on corruption and crime has become a central theme of BJP’s narrative. His message of “governance over appeasement and development over dynasty politics” appears to be resonating across constituencies.
From UP to Bihar, Yogi’s rise as a national campaigner marks the BJP’s effort to project a unified message of decisive governance one bulldozer rally at a time.
