Uttar Pradesh, Nov 21 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emerged as one of the NDA’s most influential campaigners in Bihar, drawing massive crowds and reshaping the election narrative with fiery speeches, strategic attack lines, and a strong emphasis on governance and cultural identity.
With 31 rallies across Bihar, Yogi outpaced several national-level campaigners. The electoral outcome reflected his influence: 27 of the 31 NDA candidates he supported won, giving him a remarkable 87% strike rate.
Political analyst Ajay Kumar said the numbers speak for themselves.
“Yogi is not just a campaigner he is a vote multiplier. His strike rate in Bihar is extraordinary and underscores his deep mass appeal.”

The Punchline That Dominated the Campaign
Just before Phase 1 voting, Yogi launched a controversial jibe calling three Mahagathbandhan leaders “Appu, Tappu and Pappu” comparing them to “three monkeys” who neither speak on development nor offer governance solutions.
The remark sparked uproar across political parties. Congress leaders accused Yogi of insulting Lord Hanuman, while Akhilesh Yadav responded with counter-jibes. What followed was a full-blown political storm, hijacking the core campaign issues.
Analyst Ajay Kumar said:
“Yogi didn’t just drop a jibe he set a political trap. The opposition walked into it, abandoning their main issues to respond to the monkey controversy.”
Opposition Loses Narrative Control
Political commentator Meera Singh noted that the Mahagathbandhan’s communication strategy collapsed:
Planned messaging on governance and unemployment faded
Media debates shifted to Yogi’s remark
NDA continued pushing law and order, welfare schemes, and strong leadership
“The narrative moved entirely to Yogi’s turf,” she added.
Bulldozer Politics and Cultural Messaging Strike a Chord
Yogi’s familiar themes “bulldozer model,” “jungle raj,” law-and-order stability, Jai Shri Ram chants, and reverence for Chhath Maiyya resonated strongly in rural belts. His appeal for a “double engine government” further strengthened NDA’s emotional connect.
Analyst Anil Mishra said:
“His mass appeal translated directly into votes. Marginal seats shifted in NDA’s favour wherever he campaigned.”
Conclusion
The “monkey remark” controversy, combined with Yogi’s consistent messaging and high-energy campaign, decisively altered the direction of Bihar’s electoral discourse. As political analyst Ajay Kumar put it:
“Yogi Adityanath has cemented his position as one of India’s most influential campaigners. His Bihar performance hints at the playbook he may use in the 2027 UP elections.”
