Uttar Pradesh CM Experiences Japan’s SCMAGLEV During Visit to Yamanashi

Lucknow, Feb 27  — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday experienced Japan’s cutting-edge SCMAGLEV high-speed train, which can reach speeds of up to 500 km per hour.

Sharing his experience on social media, the chief minister posted visuals of the onboard speed display showing the train touching 501 km/h. He described the journey in Yamanashi as exceptionally smooth and stable despite the extraordinary speed, praising Japan’s focus on innovation and long-term infrastructure development.

The visit to Yamanashi Prefecture offered an opportunity to explore potential collaboration in advanced transport systems and modern mobility solutions. Adityanath said the superconducting magnetic levitation technology represents not only speed but also energy efficiency and precision, suggesting it could help shape the future of global transportation.

During his stay, the chief minister also viewed Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest peak and an active volcano recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. He described witnessing the iconic mountain on a clear day as a memorable moment and appreciated Japan’s cultural heritage, natural beauty and disciplined society.
