YRS President Vows to Step Down if Allegations Proven True, Demands Apology from Kavinder Gupta

11-09-2023 : The Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) has issued a stern warning of legal action against former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Kavinder Gupta in response to his alleged remarks concerning the Sarore Toll Plaza issue. In a hastily organized press conference, YRS President Vikram Singh Vicky expressed strong condemnation of Kavinder Gupta’s purported statements, which had gone viral on social media. Gupta was heard accusing the YRS of orchestrating unnecessary drama around the Sarore Toll Plaza issue, insinuating that they were seeking financial gain from undisclosed sources.

Vicky emphasized that Kavinder Gupta’s statements were not only offensive but also played with the sentiments of the entire Dogra community. He pointed out that these remarks contradicted the opinions of other BJP leaders, including MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Vice-president Sham Lal Sharma, Chander Parkash Ganga, and Surjit Singh Slathia, who had voiced support for YRS’s actions concerning the Toll Plaza issue.

Vikram Singh declared that if the allegations against him were proven true, he would step down from his position as YRS President. He further warned Kavinder Gupta of impending legal action if the latter did not retract his statements and issue an apology. Vikram Singh announced that Rajputs, alongside the wider Dogra community, would stage protests at Kavinder Gupta’s residence in the near future.

Surinder Singh Gilli and Rajn Singh Happy, former Presidents of YRS, also addressed the media, cautioning that if the BJP failed to rein in leaders like Kavinder Gupta, the party risked losing support within the Dogra community. YRS Chairman Raghuvir Singh and Founder member Rajinder Singh emphasized that such objectionable statements were detrimental to the interests of Jammu.

These YRS leaders made it clear that the organization had not gone silent on the Toll Plaza issue and would recommence its agitation by September 15. They stressed that the YRS remained committed to fighting for the rights and betterment of Jammu and Kashmir without manipulating the sentiments of the people, as asserted by YRS spokesperson Vishal Singh.

The press conference included several YRS members, such as Mohan Singh, Prem Singh, Ramesh Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Balbir Singh, Rajveer Singh, Sanjeev Singh, Mandeep Singh, Mukesh Singh, Rajesh Singh, Sandy Singh, Bhanu Pratap, Vikramjeet, Vikram Chib, Avtar Singh, Sanjay Singh, and Sumit Singh.
