Budgam Police Launch Major Crackdown on Cross Border Terror Network
Raids in Khansahib, Beerwah, and Budgam target local facilitators linked to J&K Nationals in Pakistan and PoK; digital evidence seized during CASO operations
Budgam, Nov 8: In a decisive move against terror support structures, Budgam Police carried out a major crackdown on Jammu and Kashmir Nationals operating from Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (JKNOP). The district wide operation aims to dismantle cross-border terror networks and their local facilitators.
According to a police spokesperson, the crackdown followed specific intelligence inputs, prompting multiple Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) in Khansahib, Beerwah, and Budgam areas. These raids targeted individuals allegedly involved in facilitating, funding, and promoting terror activities at the direction of their relatives based across the border.
“Several relatives and associates of active JKNOP members have been booked under relevant legal provisions for their continued involvement in anti-national activities,” the statement said. These activities reportedly included providing logistical support, spreading propaganda, and aiding in recruitment for terror outfits.
During the operations, digital devices and incriminating materials were seized, which are now being analyzed for further leads.
Reaffirming its commitment to maintaining peace and stability, Budgam Police stated that operations against cross border terror networks and their support systems will continue until they are completely dismantled.
The crackdown underscores Jammu and Kashmir Police’s sustained efforts to curb terror funding and dismantle communication channels used by Pakistan-based handlers to influence local recruits.
