Jammu and Kashmir in Grips of Fear and Terror, Claims Farooq Abdullah

Farooq Abdullah: Allegations of Fear and Terror in Jammu and Kashmir

12-06-2023 : National Conference President, Farooq Abdullah, made strong allegations on Monday, claiming that the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir have established a system designed to keep the people living in a perpetual state of “fear and terror.” Speaking to the public in Budgam district, he expressed concerns over the suppression of voices and the inability to speak the truth due to a blanket ban imposed by the authorities.

Abdullah further stated that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir has created an atmosphere of fear and terror, deliberately designed to deter individuals from expressing their true opinions. He lamented the state of freedom of the press, asserting that newspapers have now become mere mouthpieces for the government, publishing only government propaganda and rhetoric.

The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir also highlighted the rampant issue of drug abuse plaguing the younger generation. He warned that if this destructive trend continues, the future of the youth will be bleak. Concrete measures must be taken to eradicate this menace from society, Abdullah emphasized. He stressed the collective responsibility of everyone to combat the drug problem, as failure to do so would result in the destruction of future generations and pose significant challenges for the nation.
