PM Modi Predicts ‘Historic NDA Victory’ as First Phase of Bihar Assembly Polls Begins

Prime Minister predicts an “unprecedented majority” for the NDA, praises voter enthusiasm as polling begins across 121 constituencies in Bihar.

Patna, Nov 6 — As the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections kicked off today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed strong confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to secure a “historic and unprecedented majority” in the state.
Highlighting the vibrant voter participation, PM Modi lauded the enthusiasm among the people of Bihar, calling it a reflection of their faith in development and stability. “The grand festival of democracy in Bihar is witnessing amazing enthusiasm among the people, which indicates that the NDA is going to get an unprecedented majority in the assembly elections,” he said in a post on X.
The Prime Minister also announced his plans to address two key election rallies today one in Forbesganj, Araria at 11:30 a.m. and another in Bhagalpur at 1:30 p.m. as part of his ongoing campaign trail.
Polling is currently underway in 121 constituencies across 18 districts, covering nearly half of Bihar’s 243 Assembly seats. Over 3.75 crore electors are eligible to vote in this phase, with polling scheduled until 6 p.m., though some constituencies will close by 5 p.m. due to security concerns.
This phase will determine the political fortunes of several high-profile candidates, including RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Mangal Pandey, and JD(U) ministers Shravan Kumar and Vijay Kumar Choudhary. RJD’s Tej Pratap Yadav is also among the key contenders.
According to the Election Commission, the phase includes 10.72 lakh new electors, with 7.78 lakh voters aged between 18 and 19 years. The total population across these constituencies is estimated to be around 6.60 crore.
PM Modi’s confident prediction of a decisive NDA victory comes as the alliance seeks to consolidate its position in the politically crucial state of Bihar.
