13-08-2021: Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu felicitated Journalists from Nepal during a simple but impressive function at the Chamber House here today. A 16-member delegation of Federation of Nepal Journalists arrived at the Chamber House in the forenoon where they were received by the CCI office bearers led by its President Arun Gupta besides the members of All J&K Gorkha Sabha, Scheduled Caste community, Valmiki Samaj, and POK refugees.
The programme began with the welcome address presented by the Secretary-General of CCI, Gaurav Gupta. CCI Jammu President, Arun Gupta in his address on the occasion said that Nepal and India have a long history of cordial relations. He added that there is a substantial population of Nepal origin especially the Gorkha community people who have contributed a lot in different sectors of this Union Territory but it needs to be acknowledged that the mutual cooperation has not received the desired fillip or encouragement to the expected level. While urging the visiting journalists to present in Nepal the real scenario that provides hope to aspiring people of Nepal as well as those in J&K to work in synchronizing their efforts towards productive cooperation in the interest of people of Nepal and Jammu and Kashmir.
Later a meeting was held between the Chamber members and the members of Federation of Nepal Journalists besides the members of All J&K Gorkha Sabha, Scheduled Caste community, Valmiki Samaj, and POK refugees. The members welcomed the abrogation of Art 370 asserting that now they are enjoying rights at par with others citizens of the country.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of members of Federation of Nepal Journalists, All J&K Gorkha Sabha, Scheduled Caste community, Valmiki Samaj, and POK refugees by CCI Jammu President, Arun Gupta and his team.
