2-Day programme- ‘Me The Women’ concludes at PSPS Govt PG College Gandhinagar  

JAMMU, MARCH 09: NSS Units and Department of Botany Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government P. G. College  for Women, Gandhinagar Jammu organised two day programme- ‘Me the Women’  to commemorate International Women’s Day.

The programme was held from March 7 to March 9,2022 under the guidance of the College Principal Dr. Sangita Nagari and supervision of Prof. Mala Bhasin, NSS Programme Officer and HoD Botany.

The First day witnessed a cultural event.  NSS volunteers and students participated in Poetry Recitation and delivered speeches on the topic- ‘Role of Women in Society’, followed by Punjabi Bhangra and Dogri dance.

A skit was also presented wherein Shaista mesmerized the audience with her brilliant performance. A total of 30 volunteers/ students participated in these activities and about 180 attended the Programme along with faculty of College and NSS Committee members.

 On day 2, around 26 volunteers participated in Poster Making event and exhibited their talent and creativity.

The International Women’s Day is observed to promote Women’s rights and honour their social, economic, cultural and political achievements.

Dr. Sangita Nagari, Principal of the College applauded the volunteers/students for their participation and motivated them to fly high for the Nation.  She said that the females are doing better in every field as compared to opposite gender. She advised the students to spread the message of gender equality and work together in making a better society where there is no gender bias. She also congratulated faculty and students and appreciated the efforts of NSS Programme Officers and faculty of Department of Botany for organising these events successfully.  The formal vote was presented by Prof. Sugandha Mahajan, Assistant Professor,  Department of Botany.
