5 Arrested 4 Detained In Connection With Stone Pelting During Anti-Encroachment Drive In Jammu

JAMMU, 6 Feb. In connection with stone-throwing during an anti-encroachment sweep here last week, five individuals were arrested and four were placed under custody, police said on Monday.

They claimed that during the drive to demolish a car showroom established on encroached land at Malik Market in the Narwal bypass region on Saturday, three officers were hurt by being stoned.

Sajad Ahmed Beigh, the showroom’s owner, is reportedly one among those detained.

In connection with stone-throwing that happened during an anti-encroachment drive here, a senior police official said, “We have detained four others and arrested five persons.”

According to officials, they are currently being questioned at Trikuta Nagar police station.
