Government departments asked to submit inputs as Commission seeks feedback on salaries, allowances and service-related issues.

Srinagar, May 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced that members of the 8th Central Pay Commission will visit the Union Territory from May 31 to June 5 for consultations with government employees, staff unions, associations and other stakeholders.

As part of the visit, a dedicated interaction and presentation session with the J&K administration has been scheduled for June 1 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar. The meeting, to be chaired by the Chief Secretary, will provide an opportunity for departments to place their views and recommendations before the Commission.

An official communication issued by the Finance Department stated that senior officers from key administrative departments have been directed to attend the session. These include representatives from the finance, power, tourism, agriculture, public works, home and general administration departments, besides officials from the Lieutenant Governor’s and Chief Minister’s secretariats.

The exercise forms part of the Commission’s nationwide outreach aimed at collecting suggestions on pay revision, allowances, pension-related matters and service conditions of government employees.

During the visit, the Commission is expected to engage with various stakeholders to assess concerns and proposals that may be considered while framing its recommendations for Central Government employees and pensioners.
