03-10-2023 : The Jammu and Kashmir Police has categorically dismissed the rumors surrounding a video suggesting the involvement of DySP Adil Mushtaq in the Kokernag encounter, which tragically resulted in the loss of three officers’ lives. These rumors, purportedly propagated by a news agency, have been firmly debunked by the police.
ADGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, conveyed the baselessness of the video and clarified that DySP Adil Mushtaq is currently under investigation for an entirely different case, unrelated to the Anantnag incident. The police authorities emphasized that the claims made in the video are unfounded and lack any factual basis.
In a stern response, the Jammu and Kashmir Police condemned this type of irresponsible journalism, labeling it as an act of criminal misconduct. They further asserted that individuals or entities engaged in such actions are liable to face legal consequences for spreading false information.
The official statement issued by the police highlighted, “It has come to notice that a video news item has been uploaded purportedly issued by a news agency by the name of Bharat TAK suggesting that DSP Adil Mushtaq is involved in the Kokernag terror incident as an insider betrayal. There is no truth to this video news.”
Furthermore, they clarified, “DSP Adil Mushtaq is being investigated for an entirely different case in Srinagar district and not in Anantnag. This type of #irresponsible #journalism is also an act of criminal misconduct and is liable for legal action.”
