Asa Germann Set to Join Cast of Upcoming ‘X-Men’ Film

‘Gen V’ actor to portray Warren Worthington III after earlier reports linked him to Cyclops

LOS ANGELES, Sept 11: Actor Asa Germann has reportedly joined the cast of Marvel Studios’ upcoming “X-Men” film, with the “Gen V” star set to portray the mutant superhero Warren Worthington III, also known as Angel.

Directed by Jake Schreier and produced by Kevin Feige, the film will introduce Germann as the winged mutant, according to entertainment news outlet Deadline.

Germann had previously been rumoured to play Cyclops, a role that was later announced for Kit Connor. His casting as Angel marks a different entry into the X-Men universe.

Angel, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, made his comic book debut in “X-Men” in 1963. Born with large feathered wings, Warren Worthington III possesses the ability to fly and initially attempts to conceal his mutation before becoming associated with Professor Charles Xavier and the X-Men.

The character later undergoes a dramatic transformation in the comics when Apocalypse replaces his natural wings with metallic ones, turning him into the darker, blue-skinned Archangel.

The upcoming film is scheduled to hit theatres on May 5, 2028. Its cast includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue and Adam Driver as Sinister, among others.

Germann was most recently seen in “Scream 7”, directed by Kevin Williamson, in which he played Lucas Bowden.
