Assembly Erupts as MLAs Protest Randhawa’s Remarks on Kashmir

Placard Over ‘Khasra No. 211’ Sparks Protests and Counter-Slogans in House

Jammu, Feb 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed uproar on Tuesday after MLA Khursheed raised objections to remarks made by fellow legislator Randhawa, prompting sharp exchanges inside the House.

Khursheed was joined by MLA Irfan Hafeez Lone along with members of the National Conference and other legislators, escalating the confrontation and leading to noisy scenes during the proceedings.

Tensions flared further when an MLA displayed a placard bearing “Khasra No. 211,” a reference to a recent show cause notice issued by the Jammu Development Authority to Randhawa over alleged encroachment of land at Chak Ganeshu village in Mandal tehsil.

The move triggered protests and counter slogans from both sides, forcing the Chair to intervene as disruptions continued.
