Joint operation by revenue, forest and police departments clears government land in Jammu area

Jammu, May 19: Authorities on Monday launched a major anti-encroachment drive in the Bandi area near the Maha Maya Temple to remove alleged illegal occupations from government land.

Officials said the operation was carried out jointly by the revenue department, forest officials and police personnel to maintain law and order and ensure the smooth conduct of the campaign.

During the drive, teams removed several temporary and permanent structures that had allegedly been constructed unlawfully on public property. Heavy machinery and field staff were deployed at the site to clear the encroached land.

According to officials, the administration has intensified efforts to protect government land from illegal occupation and unauthorized construction activities in sensitive areas.

Authorities stated that similar operations will continue in the coming days as part of an ongoing initiative to safeguard public assets and prevent fresh encroachments across the region.

Security personnel remained deployed throughout the operation to avoid any untoward incident and ensure peaceful execution of the drive.
