31-06-2023 : Ayushi Sudan, an IAS officer from the 2017 batch, was appointed as the next deputy commissioner of Kupwara by the Government of Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday.
Ayushi Sudan, IAS (AGMUT: 2017), the National Health Mission’s mission director, has been transferred and appointed as Kupwara’s deputy commissioner, effective immediately, per an order. In the meantime, in addition to his current responsibilities, Bhupinder Kumar, IAS (AGMUT: 2011), administrative secretary of Health and Medical Education, has been given the additional responsibility of Mission Director, National Health Mission J&K.
The decision to appoint Ayushi Sudan as the DC of Kupwara underscores the government’s recognition of the need for capable leadership to drive positive change and address the unique challenges faced by the district. Kupwara, located in the northern part of Jammu & Kashmir and sharing borders with Pakistan-administered Kashmir, presents distinct geographical and security complexities. It is home to a diverse population with various developmental needs that require comprehensive attention.
