BENGALURU, Oct 27 — Karnataka Health Minister and senior Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao has alleged large-scale electoral malpractice in the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency, claiming that “vote chori” (vote theft) cost the Congress a win in the recent elections.
Speaking after launching a signature campaign against alleged vote manipulation, Gundu Rao said that there were as many as 11,200 fake voters registered in the Gandhinagar Assembly constituency alone. “If there was no vote chori in Bengaluru Central, a Congress MP would have been elected from here,” he asserted.
The minister further said that despite filing a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding the presence of fake voters, no action has been taken so far. “Why is the Election Commission delaying the deletion process?” he questioned.
Gundu Rao added that all data related to the alleged vote theft will be compiled and sent to the Election Commission for further investigation. He urged the poll body to take swift action to ensure transparency and protect the integrity of the democratic process.
The Congress’s ongoing campaign aims to raise public awareness about electoral fraud and demand stricter voter list verification ahead of upcoming elections.
