AMARAVATI, Feb 16 : The Bill Gates Andhra Pradesh visit on Monday is set to centre on expanding cooperation in public health and artificial intelligence, with the Microsoft co-founder scheduled to hold detailed discussions with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Gates will arrive at the state secretariat in the morning, where he will meet Naidu, IT Minister Nara Lokesh and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. According to Municipal Minister P. Narayana, the talks will explore ways to broaden existing partnerships in healthcare delivery and emerging technologies.
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has been implementing health-focused projects in Kuppam, located in Chittoor district. Discussions are expected to assess scaling up these interventions to reach a larger population across the state.
During the visit, Gates will also review the functioning of the Real Time Governance System (RTGS), where officials will demonstrate the application of data and digital tools in public administration. The Chief Minister is expected to present his “Swarna Andhra 2047” vision, outlining reforms in sectors such as medical technology, diagnostic services and the Sanjeevani health record digitisation initiative.
Later in the day, Gates and his delegation will travel to an agricultural facility in Undavalli village, Amaravati, to observe the use of drones and AI-based solutions in farming practices.
This marks Gates’ return to Andhra Pradesh following earlier visits to the undivided state. The trip comes after an invitation from the Chief Minister aimed at deepening collaboration in technology led development and public welfare initiatives.
