Jammu, 27 January 2026: Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu & Kashmir, under the leadership of its President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, CA, felicitated distinguished State Awardees for their exemplary services to society in their respective fields and for bringing laurels to the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The felicitation ceremonies were organized at different locations in Jammu.
Ajay Kumar Sharma, a State Awardee from Ward-18 and a noted theatre personality, was honoured at Rehari for his remarkable contribution to theatre and performing arts. Similarly, renowned Dogri singer Raman Slathia, a State Awardee from Gurha Slathia in Samba district and Co-Convenor of the BJP Sanskriti, Art & Culture Cell, was felicitated at the BJP headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, for his outstanding work in promoting Dogri language and culture.
BJP Vice-President Rekha Mahajan, Secretary Arun Sharma, Media Incharge Dr. Pardeep Mahotra, former JMC Councillors Dinesh Gupta, and Jeet Angral, senior leaders Sanjiv Sharma, and KL Sharma, Co-Convenor of BJP Sanskriti, Art & Culture Cell Sahil Mahajan, and other BJP leaders were also present during the felicitation programmes.
Addressing on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that the BJP believes in recognizing and honouring individuals who dedicate their lives to the service of society, culture, and the nation. He said that artists and cultural ambassadors like Ajay Kumar Sharma and Raman Slathia play a crucial role in preserving Jammu & Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage and inspiring the younger generation. He added that such recognitions motivate others to contribute positively to society and reaffirm the nation’s commitment to promoting art, culture, and social service.
Rekha Mahajan said that it is a matter of pride for the party and the entire region that such talented individuals have been recognized at the state level. She stated that BJP will continue to encourage and support artists and social contributors who work selflessly for society.
Expressing their gratitude, the awardees thanked the BJP leadership for the warm felicitation and honour. They said that the recognition and encouragement from BJP leaders further strengthens their resolve to continue working for the promotion of art, culture, and social values in Jammu & Kashmir.
