Doda, Oct 29: The Special Crime Wing of the Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK) on Wednesday conducted search operations at the residence of Farhat Malik in Village Tendala Gandoh, District Doda, as part of an ongoing investigation into a fake job placement scam.
According to an official statement, the raids were carried out in connection with FIR No. 02/2025, registered under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for cheating and fraud. Malik is allegedly involved in deceiving individuals by promising lucrative employment opportunities both abroad and within India in exchange for money.
The Crime Branch said the searches aimed to recover incriminating documents and digital evidence relevant to the case. Acting on credible inputs and investigative leads, the Special Crime Wing initiated the operation to strengthen the probe and gather material proof of the alleged fraudulent activities.
“The case pertains to allegations of deception and monetary exploitation under the pretext of providing overseas job placements,” the CBK statement read, adding that the agency remains committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and justice in cases of public trust and financial fraud.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, and more details will be shared as the inquiry progresses, officials said.
