DUBAI, May 14: Cricket administrators from multiple countries are considering proposals to expand the international T20 calendar following a sharp rise in global broadcasting revenue.
Officials said discussions are underway regarding new regional tournaments and franchise partnerships designed to attract younger audiences. Broadcasters have reportedly expressed interest in longer annual schedules due to strong digital viewership.
Former players, however, warned that excessive scheduling could place additional strain on athletes and reduce the quality of international competitions.
Sports analysts believe governing bodies will face pressure to balance commercial growth with player workload management.
