Delhi Authorities Remove Unauthorised Structures Near Pakistan High Commission

Queue management barriers near the visa section were cleared after officials found them placed beyond the diplomatic mission’s approved boundary.

NEW DELHI, Aug 20: Authorities have removed unauthorised structures and queue-management barriers installed outside the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, official sources said on Thursday.

The structures, which included queue liners positioned near the visa section, were found on a lane falling outside the approved boundary of the diplomatic compound, the sources said.

The removal was carried out as part of an official action to clear installations occupying space beyond the designated premises of the diplomatic mission.

The development comes days after Pakistani authorities removed security barricades and parking poles placed outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.

The recent actions involving installations outside the two diplomatic missions come amid heightened attention to arrangements surrounding the respective high commissions in New Delhi and Islamabad.

Officials said the structures removed in New Delhi were located outside the approved boundary of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, and their clearance was undertaken accordingly.
