New Delhi, Sept 16: The Ministry of Education has launched a nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing digital learning and skill development among school and college students across India. The program, named “Digital Shiksha Mission”, focuses on integrating technology in classrooms, providing online resources, and training teachers in innovative teaching methods.
Under this initiative, students from government and private institutions will gain access to interactive e-learning platforms, virtual labs, and AI-based personalized learning tools. The mission also emphasizes upskilling students in emerging technologies, including coding, artificial intelligence, and data analytics, to prepare them for future job markets.
The Minister of Education, addressing a press briefing, said, “Education in India must evolve with the changing times. Digital Shiksha Mission aims to bridge the urban-rural learning divide, empower teachers with modern tools, and ensure that every student has access to quality education, irrespective of their background.”
In addition to digital classrooms, the initiative will promote career guidance, mental health support, and life skills training for students to ensure holistic development. Pilot programs are set to roll out in 50 districts this month, with plans to expand nationwide by the next academic year.
Education experts have welcomed the initiative, stating that technology-driven learning can transform the education system, improve student engagement, and equip young learners with the skills needed to thrive in the 21st century.
