Dogra Law College Hosts Interactive Session with Senior Supreme Court Advocate Dr. Adish C Aggarwala

16-06-2023 : Dogra Law College was delighted to host Senior Supreme Court Advocate Dr. Adish C Aggarwala, President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) and President International Council of Jurists for an interactive session. He was accompanied by a delegation of advocates and members of the All India Bar Association. Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman Dogra Educational Trust, Dr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust and Prof. Darshana Sharma, Director, Dogra Group of Colleges were also present on this special occasion. The session commenced with the floral welcome of the eminent guests and continued with the introduction of the event by Danish Tak, student of 5 year BA LL.B 2nd Semester. Then dignitaries paid tribute to Goddess Saraswati by lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Professor V.P. Magotra, Principal, Dogra Law College cordially welcomed the esteemed guests and other dignitaries. This was followed by the mesmerizing Interactive Session on career choice and professional ethics of an advocate.  He further emphasized that an advocate is obliged to comply with law and follow the standards of professional ethics and permanently sustain the reputation and value of the legal profession as a participant of the administration of justice. He urged the students to maintain their personal dignity and honour. The students participated with enthusiastic zeal and outpoured their love and adoration for the worthy guest.

Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust presided over the programme and in his address urged the students to hone and sharpen their talents and potential to carve a niche for the nation. He highlighted the much famous quoted dictum of Swami Vivekananda “Death is better than a vegetating ignorant life; it is better to die on the battle-field than to live a life of defeat”. Advocate Nar Hari Singh, Former Additional Advocate General of J&K also spoke about the role of lawyer’s profession. According to him three components i.e. integrity, innovation & invention are always being followed while establishing career. Advocate Bharat Singh Jamwal, Supreme Court of India in his speech highlighted the value of endurance in order to succeed in life.

Dr. Adish C. Aggarwala conferred distinguished membership of the International Council of Jurists to the management, faculty, and all the members of the student council.

The vote of thanks was rendered by Mrs. Sumiksha Razdan, Sr. Lecturer Dogra Law College, and the programme ended with the National Anthem.
