DPAP shuns divisive and discriminatory politics: RS Chib

21-09-2023 : Former minister and General Secretary Democratic Progressive Azad Party R S Chib on Wednesday reiterated DPAP’s stand against divisive and discriminatory politics in Jammu and Kashmir.

Urging DPAP workers here to be fully prepared for upcoming Urban Local Bodies’ election, Chib said the party has a proven track record of its chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad who as chief minister always treated all regions equally and never discriminated on the basis of caste, creed or region.

“DPAP stands for equal opportunity for all and shuns divisive and discriminatory politics adopted by politicians with vested interest in Jammu and Kashmir,” Chib said while addressing a meeting of office bearers and workers of district Ramban which was organised by Thakur Dharam Chand, district president Ramban.

Citing an example of Ramban, Chib reminded the gathering that it was Ghulam Nabi Azad who as chief minister granted district status to Ramban which helped residents to resolve their grievances easily at district headquarters instead of going to Doda which was distant away.

“DPAP will attempt to resolve the issue of unemployment and all other critical issues to Jammu and Kashmir if elected to power,” Chib said.

Former minister and Provincial President Jugal Kishore Sharma said DPAP has agenda of restoration of statehood, guarantee of jobs for local youth and policy of no outsider will be allowed to purchase land.

“All those evicted by this government will be given their land back,” Sharma said.

Provincial General Secretary Vishal Chopra, Prabha Salathia, President Mahila Wing Jammu province, Arun Singh Raju Secretary also urged DPAP workers to reach out to all in Ramban district and apprise them about party agenda and past achievements.

DPAP leaders who spoke on the occasion include, Farooq Ahmad Chaudhary, Shakeel Singh Bhagat (both provincial general secretary), Jai Ram Bhagat, Shahrukh Bhatti, Mohd Shafi, Ata Zargar, Shamima Akhter, Munshir Ram Manhas, Nusrat Bano, Surjit Lal Bhagat, Shabir Ahmad Sheikh and others.

On the occasion, large number of prominent workers of BJP, Congress and National Conference joined DPAP and pledged their support to the party.

Those who joined DPAP include educationists, Shushma Sharma, Purshottam Singh Raju, Abhishek Sharma, Ashok Vaid, Farooq Ahmad Wani, Shamsudin Magrey, Parveen Akhter, Abdul Rashid Sawani, Sher Mohd Naik, Babli Devi Ishardass and Pyara Chand.

A DPAP district office was also inaugurated by RS Chib and Jugal Kishore Sharma in presence of all office bearers and party workers.
