20-02-2023 : On Monday, Mehbooba Mufti, the leader of the People’s Democratic Party, paid a visit to the historic Raghunath bazar located in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. According to party officials, Mufti engaged with local traders to gain an understanding of the current state of affairs in one of the region’s economic and trade centers.
During her visit, Mufti met with the office bearers of the Raghunath bazar traders association who briefed her on the progress and work done during her tenure as the former chief minister. The traders fondly remembered the beautification project of the market, which was undertaken during her government.
The party leaders informed that the market’s beautification project and the construction of a semi-automatic multi-level car parking facility during her term have provided much-needed relief to the traders. Mufti reminisced about her time as a student in the old city and expressed her admiration for the people of Jammu and Kashmir who have always been brought together by the city’s markets and warm residents.
