NEW DELHI, Apr 30: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) on Thursday declared the results of the ICSE and ISC board examinations for 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of above 99 per cent in both Class 10 and Class 12 exams.
The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) examination for Class 10 witnessed a pass percentage of 99.18 per cent. A total of 2,58,721 students appeared for the examination this year.
For the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination conducted for Class 12 students, the overall pass percentage stood at 99.13 per cent. Around 1,03,316 candidates took the examination across the country.
Girls Register Better Performance in Both Exams
Girls continued to outperform boys in the CISCE board examinations, maintaining a higher success rate in both ICSE and ISC results.
In the ICSE Class 10 examination, girls secured a pass percentage of 99.46 per cent, while boys recorded 98.93 per cent.
Similarly, in the ISC Class 12 examination, girls achieved a pass percentage of 99.48 per cent compared to 98.81 per cent among boys.
The results reflect consistent academic performance by students across streams and regions, with schools reporting strong outcomes in science, commerce and humanities subjects.

Results have been made accessible online to ensure smooth and quick access for students and parents following the announcement.
Officials said schools have also been provided digital access to detailed performance reports and other examination-related documents.
Strong Performance Continues Trend
The 2026 board examination results continue the trend of high pass percentages witnessed in recent years. Education experts believe improved digital learning support, better preparation strategies and continuous assessment methods have contributed to the strong performance.
With the declaration of results, students seeking admission to higher secondary courses and undergraduate programmes are expected to begin the next phase of the academic admission process across institutions nationwide.
