India, May 19 : India expanded digital healthcare services during May 2026 as telemedicine platforms and mobile clinics improved access to medical care in rural areas. Health authorities said technology driven healthcare solutions are helping bridge the urban-rural treatment gap.
Doctors conducted virtual consultations for patients in remote villages where specialist services remain limited. Mobile health applications also enabled easier appointment booking, prescription tracking and health monitoring.
Healthcare experts stated that digital systems can reduce hospital overcrowding while improving preventive care awareness. Several states announced investments in internet-enabled primary healthcare centres.
