New DElhi, May 10 : The Indian government intensified border monitoring and strategic defence deployment during May 9-10 amid heightened regional tensions and intelligence alerts from multiple agencies. Senior security officials reviewed preparedness along northern and western sectors as the Centre emphasized national security and rapid response capabilities.
The Ministry of Defence reportedly enhanced drone surveillance, advanced radar systems and troop readiness near critical locations. Officials stated that the measures were precautionary and aimed at maintaining stability in sensitive border areas.
Meanwhile, diplomatic channels remained active as India continued communication with neighbouring countries to prevent escalation and preserve regional peace. Strategic experts believe the move reflects India’s growing emphasis on modern warfare preparedness and technological defence infrastructure.
Security analysts noted that the government is also focusing on cyber defence and anti-drone operations to counter evolving threats. The developments come at a time when geopolitical uncertainty continues to influence security calculations across Asia.
India’s armed forces have also accelerated modernization programs involving indigenous weapons systems, surveillance aircraft and missile defence platforms under the “Make in India” initiative. Defence experts say the current approach demonstrates India’s intention to maintain strategic deterrence while avoiding direct confrontation.
