Jammu and Kashmir Congress Chief Urges Party Workers to Prepare Diligently for Upcoming Elections in the Union Territory

07-11-2023 : Jammu and Kashmir Congress Chief, Vikar Rasool Wani, held a significant meeting on November 7th, emphasizing the proactive preparation of party workers for upcoming elections in the Union Territory. He expressed his concerns about the BJP’s alleged reluctance to hold elections, citing a fear of potential defeat as the reason behind this avoidance.

During the meeting, Wani provided directives to the Congress district in-charges, district presidents, and leaders of the party’s frontal wings. He stressed the importance of maintaining consistent communication with representatives from panchayats and municipal bodies, as well as seeking feedback from grassroots workers. The ultimate goal, according to Wani, is to ensure that the Congress is well-prepared for any forthcoming elections and to impart a valuable lesson to the BJP.

Wani contended that the BJP’s avoidance of Assembly elections in the Union Territory is rooted in their apprehension of receiving a negative response and facing potential defeat. In contrast, he affirmed the Congress’s unwavering commitment to participating in all elections with zeal and thorough preparations. The primary objective is to challenge the BJP, which, in the Congress’s view, has fallen short of meeting the expectations of various segments of society and has led to considerable hardships.

Raman Bhalla, the Working President of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, echoed these sentiments. He accused the BJP of denying the people of the Union Territory their fundamental democratic rights and failing to create employment opportunities for educated youth. As a result, many individuals who were previously employed have lost their jobs due to economic setbacks. The Congress party appears determined to address these issues and assert its presence in the political landscape of the Union Territory.
