Jammu, November 05, 2022: A meeting of Minority department of JKPCC was held here today at PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk Jammu which was presided over by Vice Chairman of the Minority department Sardar Gurdarshan Singh and attended by Michel Wazir, Jagjit Singh, Tariq Choudhary , Baldev Singh Wazir, Rajinder Singh Nathu(Sarpanch), Nassir Masih, Ravinder Singh, Swarn Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Pinki Sudan, Joginder Kour, Gurmeet Kour, Manjit Kour, David Sandhu, Balvinder Singh, Manprit Singh, Roshan Din and others.
Speaking on the occasion S. Gurdarshan Singh reinstated their demand of appointment of “Centre Minority Commission Coordinator” in JK UT for the holistic development of minority communities in Jammu and Kashmir. He also appealed to people of minority communities in JK UT to come forward and join the congress party which is the only party who fight for the rights of the minorities.
He further said that it is hurting and pain staking that in spite of our repeatedly demands of Minority Commission, Installation of statue of Baba Bandha Singh Bahadur and announcement of Punjabi language as official language but none of our demands have been fulfilled by the Government so far.
Mr. Michael Wazir State coordinator while discussing the measures to protect minorities and their rights appealed all the minority communities to reconnect with the congress party to defeat communal forces. He said that the congress party has never appeased any particular community, instead, the Party only ensured social justice by giving equal opportunities to all the communities without any discrimination. Michael Wazir appealed to all the Party workers to expose the hype created by present government over the welfare of minorities.
Sr. Jagjeet singh Rimple State Coordinator demands reservation of four Assembly seats for Sikhs, two for Christians and two for Dogra Muslim communities to mitigate the problems being faced by these communities.
S Baldev Singh Wazir District President Minority Dept. Jammu Urban demanded Punjabi language in all Govt. as well as private Schools in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and installation of statue of Bandha Bhadhur Singh at Kunjwani Chowk, Jammu.
