Jammu, September 13: The Jammu Province Bachao Manch (JPBM), a non-political social organization, led by its Chairman, Ashok Sharma, a former MLA/MLC, highlighted the urgent need for broader unity in the Jammu Province.
Addressing a press conference here today, Ashok Sharma articulated the challenges currently faced by the people of the Jammu Region. He expressed concern over heavy taxation, rising unemployment, the menace of drug abuse, encroachment on Duggar land and culture, electricity issues including the installation of smart meters, the proliferation of illegal toll plazas, and soaring prices of essential goods.
Sharma pointed out that Jammu and Kashmir has been without a democratically elected government for nearly five years, resulting in an increasing autocratic influence of bureaucratic ruling bodies. The voice of the people has often gone unheard, leading to disillusionment among the public. He emphasized the immediate need for the restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir while safeguarding the region’s land and job opportunities.
Ashok Sharma called upon all residents of Jammu, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or geographic area, to unite for justice and their legitimate demands. He stressed that everyone in Jammu Region is a Dogra, and preserving the pride of Dogras is a collective responsibility. Securing justice for the current and future generations is a fundamental right, he added.
Kuldeep Sharma, Chief Spokesperson and Secretary General of JPBM, along with Satish Poonchi, Vice Chairman of the organization, lauded the efforts and struggles of Youth Rajput Sabha (YRS) and condemned any derogatory remarks directed at their selfless dedication to the cause of Duggar. The YRS was commended for its commitment to the welfare of Dogras.
They also underscored the unity among all Jammuites for the greater cause of Jammu and emphasized the age-old adage that “united we stand, and united we shall achieve our goals.”
