THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, Sept 23: The Kerala Health Department is preparing a comprehensive development plan for three major government hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram to improve patient care and guide their long-term expansion.
The institutions covered by the proposed plan are the Government Model Hospital in Peroorkada, the State Mental Health Centre and Thiruvananthapuram General Hospital.
INKEL has been assigned the task of conducting site surveys and assessing the existing infrastructure at the three facilities. The assessment will also examine their development potential and help identify areas requiring improvement.
The initiative is aimed at addressing infrastructure and patient care requirements while creating a long-term framework for the growth of the hospitals.
The proposed planning exercise is expected to evaluate the existing facilities and help determine future infrastructure needs at the three institutions.
The health department’s move comes as government hospitals continue to handle significant patient loads, making infrastructure planning and efficient use of available facilities important for improving healthcare delivery.
