LAWDA conducts demolition drive in Lal Bazar

FIRs lodged against repeated offender

SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 30: The Enforcement wing of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) has carried out a demolition drive in the areas of Lalbazar, Ahmadakadal, and Baghwanpora.

During the demolition drive, illegal construction of an extension structure to the existing building at Baghwanpora Ahmadakadal was demolished.

Meanwhile, the structure has been three times demolished in previous; however, the owner is adamant and is continuing with the illegal construction as such two FIRs have also been lodged against the violator in the concerned police station.

The concerned watcher has also been put under suspension for not reporting this illegal construction well in time.  Also during last week, about seven illegal constructions were demolished in Saidakadal Ashaibagh area including two single-storey houses, one 2nd storey of the house, one-third storey of the house, tin walling, and a shop was demolished.

Meanwhile, illegal earth filling at Naidyar Rainawari has also been removed and seized on the spot.

All the public residing within the LDA jurisdiction and in the lake are hereby once again directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions/ encroachments, as the Enforcement wing will continue with demolition of illegal constructions/ removal of encroachments.

Moreover, the Tipper/Load carried owners are directed not carry/ferry any construction material in the prohibited area of Dal/ Nigeen Lake without getting permission, and in case anybody found shall be dealt as per law.
