Max Healthcare Plans ₹6,200 Crore Expansion to Reach 10,000 Beds

Hospital chain targets major capacity growth over three years as demand for advanced medical services and medical tourism continues to rise.

New Delhi, Sept. 3: Max Healthcare is planning to invest around ₹6,200 crore over the next three years as it seeks to expand its network to approximately 10,000 beds, according to the company’s chairman and managing director.

The expansion comes amid rising demand for specialised and tertiary healthcare services across India. The hospital group is looking to increase capacity as patient volumes grow and the need for advanced medical treatment continues to rise.

The planned investment is expected to support the development and expansion of healthcare infrastructure across the company’s network. The move is also aimed at strengthening its ability to provide specialised treatment in areas requiring advanced clinical expertise and facilities.

Medical tourism is another important component of the company’s growth strategy. According to the company, international patients currently account for about 9% of its overall business, highlighting India’s growing position as a destination for complex and specialised medical procedures.

The proposed capacity expansion comes at a time when India’s private healthcare sector is witnessing significant investment. Hospital operators are adding beds and upgrading facilities to meet increasing demand for quality healthcare.

Max Healthcare’s plan to reach 10,000 beds over the coming three years is expected to significantly increase its treatment capacity and broaden access to specialised services.

The investment also reflects the wider expansion taking place in India’s organised healthcare industry, where major hospital groups are increasing capacity in response to changing patient needs and growing demand for advanced care.
