JAMMU, JAN 2: Namrta Sharma, President Women Wing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), J&K while strongly condemning the targeted killing of four civilians by the terrorists in Dangri area of District Rajouri last evening has slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Govt at the Centre and the Union Territory Administration for making false claims of normalcy in this terror tormented part of the nation.
In a statement issued here today, the senior AAP leader said that the Rajouri incident clearly shows the failure of the government in taming terrorism. She said that this incident is a wake-up call for the Govt and its security and intelligence establishment that the menace of target killings has spread its tentacles in Jammu Province and that attempts are being made to revive militancy in this division as well. She asserted that the target attacks by terrorists on a particular community members are being executed unabated by the terrorists during the BJP’s proxy Govt in J&K and the government seems to be helpless in fighting this strategic killing spree by the terrorists.
The senior AAP leader while questioning the government on its tall claims of normalcy said that the problem of terrorism is not going to be solved by making hollow claims, organizing programmes in Kashmir or relating tourist arrivals to normalcy, but a strong strategy needs to be adopted for eliminating the terrorism menace. She said that it needs to be probed as to that how come that terrorists from across the border succeed in infiltrating and killing minorities by throwing dust in the eyes of security personnel. She asserted that there has been no change in the situation as even before 2019, there were attacks on minorities and the same continue today with the instant Rajouri killings pointing to the gravity of situation.
Namrta Sharma also expressed great resentment against the recent illogical statement given by the LG Sinha by saying that those sitting at home won’t be given salaries. She said that the PM Package KP and reserved category employees are being forced to sit at home due to the failure of present government in view of continued targeted killings by the militants in the Valley.
The senior AAP leader said that the situation has worsened only because the BJP Govt at the Centre continues to making hollow claims and trying to prove the same by planning frequent visits of its Ministers to J&K. She urged the Govt at the Centre to take the incident of target killings in Jammu Division quite seriously and adopt a meticulous strategy to stop this trend instantaneously or else it would be too late.
