JAMMU: President of Women Wing Aam Aadmi Party, Jammu and Kashmir, Namrta Sharma, while congratulating the winning of AAP candidate in the MCD Mayor seat, said that the dictatorial voice of Bharatiya Janata Party was snubbed with the intervention of the Supreme Court.
Pertinent to mention that Delhi has got a new Mayor in the fourth meeting of the House held on Wednesday after three unsuccessful meetings regarding the MCD Mayor election. Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate Shaili Oberoi has won the Mayor’s post.
The senior AAP leader has congratulated the people of Delhi by saying ‘Satya Mev Jayatey’ as ultimately voice of Delhi gets its first AAP Mayor and the developmental innings is all set to begin. After the victory, Namrta said that civic amenities are now being improved in the national capital with the blessings of the people. She appreciated the people of Delhi and said it was their mandate that helped the AAP to defeat the BJP.
She said the barely 10-year-old party has defeated the largest party in the country (BJP) in its stronghold. “The defeat will also dent the BJP’s efforts to weaken the AAP’s political dominance in Delhi, and harm its chances in the 2025 assembly polls,” she added.
“The results have once again proved the AAP is a hardcore honest party,” she said, adding that results were remarkable considering the BJP had gone all tactics for winning of Mayor’s post. She said, “AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal has worked for the people of Delhi. He improved the condition of Delhi and with the cooperation of people.”
Namrta Sharma appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the hands of Arvinder Kejriwal by supporting AAP candidate in the upcoming polls in the Union Territory for equitable development.
