Srinagar, 12 Dec: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Kashmir Adv Showkat Mir Friday reiterated the importance of maintaining a strong connection with the people on ground, urging party workers to ensure a continuous link between the party’s MLA and general public.
He said this while addressing a workers’ meeting of the Beerwah constituency, organised by MLA Beerwah Dr. Mohammad Shafi Wani. The event witnessed the presence of Central Zone President & MLA Chadoora Ali Mohammad Dar, Senior Leader and former Minister Aga Mehmood, District President Budgam Ghulam Nabi Bhat, Senior Leader Mohammad Ibrahim Mir, Vice President Budgam Mohd Ashraf Lone and Block President of Beerwah Constituency.
In his address, Mir emphasized the crucial importance of party workers staying engaged with the people in order to better serve their needs and concerns.
He said, “We must not believe that the elections are over. On the contrary, our grassroots cadre must act as a vital link between the government and the general public. Our mission must and will persist. We must continue to shine a light on public grievances. With a responsive government under the leadership of Omar Sahib in place, we can now do so in a more effective manner.”
On the occasion, leaders extended their best wishes to Showkat Mir as he assumed his new responsibilities, commending the party leadership for its decision.
During the meeting, discussions focused on key party matters, the hardships faced by the people, and pressing issues within the constituency. Showkat Mir assured attendees that the Omar Abdullah-led government is committed to fulfilling all promises made in the party manifesto.
