Srinagar, 10 Dec: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President of the Women’s Wing, Er. Sabiya Qadri Tuesday said that the government led by Omar Abdullah is dedicatedly working to alleviate the suffering of women that has been compounded by years of undemocratic rule.
Speaking at a meeting of women’s wing office bearers in Zakoora today, Er. Sabiya emphasized that the Omar Abdullah-led government is taking proactive steps to provide administrative support to the women of Jammu and Kashmir. MLA Hazratbal Salman Ali Sagar was guest of honor.
She acknowledged that the years of undemocratic rule in the region have worsened the situation for women, but the newly elected democratic government is striving to bring about positive change in all areas.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Salman Sagar urged the women functionaries to prepare for the upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections, highlighting the importance of their active participation in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir.
