JAMMU, Aug 12: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Friday urged the inmates of SOS Home and other victims of terrorism in Jammu region to fight back through hard work and excel in different fields of life.
The BJP stalwart earlier visited the SOS Home in the Channi Rama area to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with the inmates comprising young children of different age groups.
Interacting with the young children, he asked them to fight back with the situation through strong resolve and hard work, and eventually excel in different fields of life. He gave examples of many iconic personalities of the country who progressed phenomenally through the dint of their hard work.
Addressing a gathering, the former Deputy Chief Minister urged the society as a whole to take up the responsibility of the inmates of SOS Home and other children confronting similar conditions. He said that if every person will start thinking on this line and will provide help in whatever manner he or she could, the lives of these children can be changed drastically and they can be provided with all the facilities which normal children get in their homes and hearth.
Kavinder said that the inmates of such places are also the part of society and people should spare time and provide help in cash and kind for such children to ensure opportunities to them to excel in life.
On the occasion, he also appreciated the management of SOS Home for rendering yeoman’s service by giving philanthropic services to the children.
