Pakistani Drone Used to Drop Heroin Worth ₹8 Crore in Jammu, Seized

Police suspect Pakistani drone used to drop narcotics in Bishnah area

Jammu, Mar 12: Security agencies recovered over 1.5 kilograms of narcotics valued at more than ₹8 crore near the International Border in Jammu, with officials suspecting the consignment was delivered through a drone from across the border.

According to authorities, the drone-dropped heroin in Jammu was found late Wednesday night in a field at Bahadurpura village in the Bishnah area after a local resident noticed a suspicious bag and alerted police.

Preliminary inquiry indicates that the package was likely dropped from a drone originating from Pakistan as part of a cross-border smuggling attempt. Security agencies believe such methods are increasingly being used to push narcotics and other contraband into border areas.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to trace the network involved in the smuggling operation. Officials said further searches and surveillance in the area are being carried out to prevent similar attempts along the International Border.
