NEW DELHI, Sept 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed confidence that the upcoming BRICS Summit will witness constructive discussions on a range of issues, with participating nations sharing a common vision of promoting global welfare.
India is hosting the BRICS Summit in New Delhi from September 12 to 13. Leaders from 11 member countries and 10 partner countries are expected to participate in the two day gathering, along with representatives of several international organisations.
In a post on X, Modi said leaders from across the world would assemble in the national capital over the next few days for the summit.
He expressed confidence that the discussions would be positive and meaningful and focus on various issues while reflecting a shared commitment to global welfare.
Among the prominent leaders attending the summit are Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The high-level gathering is expected to provide an opportunity for participating countries to exchange views on issues of common interest and strengthen cooperation among BRICS members and partner nations.
