Mumbai, Oct 18 : Former Bollywood actor Zaira Wasim, who left the film industry over six years ago, has shared the joyous news of her wedding on social media. On Friday night, Zaira posted two photos from her nikaah ceremony, keeping her husband’s identity private.
In the pictures, Zaira is seen in a vibrant red wedding outfit adorned with golden embroidery. The couple posed with their backs to the camera while signing the nikaah papers. Accompanying the post, she captioned it simply, “Qubool Hai x3.”
Zaira gained fame with her 2016 debut in Dangal, portraying the younger Geeta Phogat alongside Aamir Khan. Her performance earned her the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress. She later starred in Secret Superstar (2017) and The Sky Is Pink (2019), before stepping away from acting to focus on her personal beliefs and faith.
Reflecting on her decision to quit films, Zaira had previously shared on Facebook, “I want to confess that I am not truly happy with this identity, that is, my line of work. For a very long time now, it has felt like I have struggled to become someone else.”
