New Delhi, Oct 18: Baba Ramdev has urged Indians to adopt Swadeshi products to counter what he termed as “tariff terrorism”, ahead of the upcoming Diwali festival. Speaking to PTI, the yoga guru emphasized the importance of supporting Indian goods to make the nation self-reliant and resilient against foreign pressure.
“India should be independent. On one hand, tariff terrorism is ongoing, and on the other, India is the world’s largest market. We have allowed foreigners to exploit it. Our Prime Minister and cultural, social, and religious organizations are calling for protecting our nation by going Swadeshi,” Ramdev said.
He encouraged citizens to buy Swadeshi diyas, lights, and gifts during Diwali, stating that such efforts would compel global powers to respect India.
Issuing a stern warning to foreign nations, Ramdev said:
“Bharat ko aankh jo dikhaega, uski aakhein hum nikaal lenge” (Whoever dares to challenge India, we will gouge out their eyes).
Ramdev described Swadeshi adoption as crucial for India’s respect, national security, and development, predicting that the campaign could help India achieve developed country status by 2040, ahead of the 2047 target.
“The campaign for Swadeshi is now bringing change. If we keep up with it, India will become a developed nation sooner,” he added.
