MUMBAI, Sept 10: Actor Saif Ali Khan has opened up about some of his career choices, admitting that he considers his decision to work on the 2012 film Cocktail a mistake despite the movie becoming a commercial success.
Reflecting on the film, Saif said he felt the script had elements he considered regressive. He suggested that commercial success does not always mean an actor is satisfied with the creative choices made during a project.
The actor’s comments offer an insight into how he evaluates his work beyond box-office performance. He has previously spoken about the importance of choosing projects that challenge him and allow him to explore different characters.
Saif also discussed the sensitivity of actors when it comes to feedback on scripts. He said his wife and actor Kareena Kapoor Khan is particularly direct when she shares her views about his film choices.
His remarks have once again highlighted the differences between commercial success and an actor’s personal assessment of a project.
