Srinagar, May 12: Continuing its anti-narcotics drive under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Monday attached immovable property worth around ₹1.2 crore in the Gasoo Hazratbal area.
According to officials, the seized assets include a double-storeyed residential house and a piece of land belonging to Maqsood Hussain Khan, son of Abdul Majeed Khan, originally from Banday Lane Hazratbal and currently residing in Gasoo.
The action was executed by Police Station Nigeen under Section 68(F)(1) of the NDPS Act, 1985. The attachment is linked to FIR No. 42/2023 registered at Police Station Nigeen under Sections 8/20, 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act, along with FIR No. 20/2025 registered at Police Station Ganderbal under Section 8/21 of the Act.
Investigators stated that the property was identified as being acquired through proceeds generated from alleged narcotics-related activities.
Police said the owner has been barred from selling, transferring, leasing, or making any alterations to the property, including creating third-party claims over it.
Reaffirming its commitment to combating drug-related crimes, Srinagar Police said the campaign against narcotics networks will continue across the district. Authorities also urged citizens to share credible information related to drug peddling to support efforts aimed at building a drug-free society.
