JAMMU: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit has prohibited the open sale of banned and unhealthy food items at the food pont allotted by the board at Shri Amarnath Yatra base camp located in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu and stop recovery from the pilgrims regarding locker room and bed service.
In a press conference organized at the party state office Jammu today, state chief Manish Sahni said that after receiving complaints from the pilgrims, a team of party leaders led by him visited the Amarnath Yatra base camp at Bhagwati Nagar in Jammu. Where are one of the food stalls allotted by the board inside the base camp openly selling banned and prohibited dishes like oil fried potato tikki, chowmin, dosa, cold drinks etc. Along with this, 20 rupees are being charged from the pilgrims for the service of keeping their luggage.
Sahni said that this year the board had banned serving of fried foods including puri, pizza, burger, stuffed parantha, dosa, butter-bread, pickle, chutney, tala papad, chowmein and others, citing the health of the passengers.

, earlier Rs 220 was collected in the name of yatra registration and now unhealthy food items are being sold openly by playing with the health of pilgrims. . Not only this, Rs 20 per bag is being collected from the pilgrims and all this is being done under the supervision of the board and administration.
Sahni said that the claims of provision of SRTC buses and package for Shri Amarnath pilgrims to visit Jammu tourist places have also proved to be hollow. At the same time, despite continuous requests from the administration and the board, no concrete steps are being taken to keep the holy Himshivling safe for darshan during the yatra period. Shiv Sainiks also released the photographs of the said dishes being sold at the Jammu base camp. On this occasion Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi,Vice President Sanjeev Kohli , President Kamghar wing Raj Singh,Prabhari Ashwani Prabhakar, Summit Kumar , Tarsem Lal were present.
