Sudarsan Pattnaik Creates 25-Foot Sand Art to Mark PM Modi’s 76th Birthday

The Puri Beach installation features 2,500 diyas and celebrates 25 years of public service with a message of blessings and good wishes.

BHUBANESWAR, Sep 16: Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has created a 25-foot-long sand installation at Puri Beach to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday and highlight the theme of “25 Years of Seva to the Nation.”

Titled “Aashirwad Ka Diya  25 Years of Seva – Happy Birthday Modi Ji,” the elaborate artwork incorporates 2,500 diyas, creating a large-scale visual display centred on light, blessings and goodwill.

The installation carries numerical symbolism throughout its design. Its 25-foot length represents 25 years of public service, while the 2,500 diyas convey prayers, blessings and good wishes on the occasion.

The artwork includes a portrait of Prime Minister Modi against the backdrop of the Indian Tricolour. The illuminated diyas surround the sand creation, adding to its visual impact while reinforcing the themes associated with the tribute.

The installation attracted tourists, local residents and devotees at Puri Beach, with visitors gathering to view the large-scale creation. Students from the Sudarsan Sand Art Institute also participated in preparing the artwork.

Pattnaik said he offered prayers to Mahaprabhu Jagannath for the Prime Minister’s good health, happiness and long life, along with his continued service to the nation.

The artist said the creation brought together sand, light and symbolism to commemorate the birthday. The combination of the 25-foot installation and thousands of diyas formed the centrepiece of the special display at Puri Beach.
