Terror Hideout Busted in J&K’s Rajouri, IED Recovered

Security forces recover ready-to-use explosive during search operation in Thanamandi’s Chamrer forest

Jammu, Mar 12: Security forces on Thursday said they have uncovered a militant shelter during an operation in Rajouri terror hideout busted case and recovered an improvised explosive device from a forested area of the district.

Officials said troops of the Rashtriya Rifles discovered the hideout during a search operation in the Chamrer forest area of Thanamandi in Rajouri district on Wednesday evening.

During the operation, security personnel recovered a ready to use IED along with food items and clothing believed to have been stored for militant use. The materials were seized and the area was thoroughly searched to rule out the presence of additional explosives.

Authorities said no arrests were made in connection with the recovery. However, security forces have intensified surveillance in the region to track down those involved in operating the hideout.
